Kinja'd!!!

This is THE most retarded Miata.net member I’ve had the misfortune to try debating with about aftermarket suspension and lowering.

PROs: None. Except for ‘looks’ — if you desire to ‘not have wheel well gap’ that would be a ‘pro’.

CONs: ruins the PERFECT stock miata suspension setup. The stock set up has a perfect pre-load and the spring rates are balanced to the weight of the car driven on real-world roads

Think of the spring and hydrailic pump on a storm door. There is a balance. Setting the pump to ‘full hard’, or putting in the stiffest spring imaginable will make operating your storm door a nightmare.

Mazda engineers spent millions finding the right balance to make the miata virtually KNOWN for the best handling car ever..

If the engineers thought ‘moar stiff’ and ‘moar lowar’ would make the car handle better they would have done it...

Mah 2-cents, but one of the quickest ways of ruining a miata is to moar stiff and moar lowar it... wheel well gap, tire sizes, and wheel offsets are not for looks, they are for function... auto engineers struggle with creating 22” wheeled cars with no wheel well gap with the wheels to the edge of the body without buggering the handling... all of this is in demand due to ‘looks’...

anyway I gave you 4 cents there...
but to each their own...

.

That’s not all.

I ain’t gonna argue wit NO-ONE on the superority of the stock Miata suspension...

25+ years of Miatas and the engineers STILL install SOFT springs on every single Miata that rolls off the factory...

The BEST engineers have designed the miata... actual ENGINEERS.. top paid. Educated.

Sorry but the Mazda engineers and their chosen stock suspension specifications trump ANY and ALL ‘aftermarket’ spring and shock hustlers...

The aftermarket is filled with moar lowar, moar stiffer... but Mazda has the #1 sports car due to a serious commitment my Mazda engineers who have settled, for the past 25+ years, on the stock suspension spring heights, and rates (more or less)...

Im keepin it real. No mazda engineer would EVER ‘ok’ 400lb spring-rates with a 2” drop... why? “It would handle like s**t”... not my words... theirs...

BALANCE is the key to suspension — the Miata has proven this for a quarter century, and Lotus before it...

Again, this is my 6-cents. to each their pwn. But there is such a thing as ‘too much’ and ‘moar is not better’ ... and ‘hardar and stiffar’ is not better... BETTER is better.... and anyone who knows physics knows that perfection is found within a BALANCE.. something the stock Miata suspension is legendary for....

.

I think he needs to learn some more refined grammar skills before he tries to argue his point, yikes. He’s like a slightly-better version of Donald Trump, thankfully he not as rich but just as stupid.

“We have top men working on the Miata”

“Who are they?”

“Top. men."

Maybe he loves body roll? And just maybe he hasnt ever driven a miata around a corner.

You’ve never been to benzworld. I recall a thread where a guy was arguing in pretty much the exact same format about how nothing is better than the stock wheels and tires on a 90s e class. People don’t get that companies have to find a balance for cost, reliability, comfort, economy, etc.

My poop I’m leaving in the toilet right now knows moar better about suspension than that troll. Butt, then again it is no Mazda engineer.

I needed a good laugh.

With this guys ongoing spouting about balance you'd think he'd realize that...

If they’re working on the Miata, I’m sure some of the men are bottom men as well.

As an auto engineer, I’m offended by his engineer comments. Best engineers go to places like ferrari, mercedes, high end performance automakers. The B- and C+ students go to Mazda...

Unfortunately you beat me to it, but I’m posting this anyway.

The Mazda engineers chose a set up that works for a broad swath of consumers. They didn’t set it up for autox from the factory, which is clearly what this grammatically challenged user fails to grasp.
